The Refugees

Refugees arriving in Germany these days, are often reduced to numbers. We mostly hear about the quantity of displaced persons entering our country and we seem to forget about the individual fates that drove every one of them to leave their homes and start a troublesome and uncertain escape. While photographing this portrait series in a Berlin refugee camp, I heard some unbelievable und moving stories of people who saw no other chance to save their lives, than to leave their beloved homes, hoping they would find a peaceful shelter until things get better in their homelands.
